£39,571 - £42,614 per annum

We are seeking to recruit a Commissioning and Procurement Lead Specialist, who will have a key role in planning and commissioning services across a range of Adult Social Care and Integrated Services.

The successful candidate will be committed to raising the quality and performance of services commissioned in Newcastle, including social value impact, reducing inequalities and improving the life chances of Newcastle’s residents. This will include developing innovative commissioning and procurement approaches in order to respond to the Council’s priorities.

A high standard of written and verbal communication skills is essential along with a good understanding of commissioning and procurement activity. This includes quality and performance assessment principles, as well as skills in service development and improvement, social value, planning and monitoring.

About you:

You will be a passionate, flexible individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to think strategically work well under pressure and translate policy aims using effective commissioning levers.

You will:

• be a dynamic individual with a passion for delivering good outcomes for Newcastle’s residents

• have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks relating to the commissioning of services, and experience of applying these.

• preferably come with strong experience of commissioning and have the ability to work across service and organisational boundaries.
