GCMS is looking to recruit an inspiring and driven Head of Science to start in January 2023 (or earlier if possible).

The ideal candidate will have a strong pedagogical understanding in order to support the implementation of their vision for the department across KS2 and KS3. Candidates must have strong leadership skills and have a sound understanding of the science curriculum at KS2 and KS3. The successful candidate will demonstrate their understanding of the importance of maintaining curiosity within science at KS2 and KS3 and will play a key role in continuing to develop the Science curriculum to best meet the needs and interests of all our pupils.

The Science department is well equipped with two modern laboratories, as well as support from our very own STEM champion, part of whose job is the science technician role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about their subject, but who is also keen to further develop STEM links in the school.
