Foster Carer Training Coordinator

Full time

£26,446 - £29,174 per annum

Newcastle City Council is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, and skilled Foster Carer Training Coordinator to work alongside our existing Training Coordinator. The main role of the Training Coordinator is to organise, monitor and deliver foster carer training to our growing foster carer community.

This role requires knowledge and experience of Fostering and training as you will be required to work alongside Foster Carers, Connected Carers, social workers, external training providers and IT to ensure carers have access to, and attend, online as well as face to face training.

The training coordinator will be responsible for delivering as well as organising and facilitating foster carer training. Part of this role will be to develop and implement the Foster Carers’ annual Learning and Development Schedule or ‘training calendar’. Excellent communication and engagement skills are essential and part of this role will be to monitor foster carer training attendance and take up.

Our foster carers often care for children with very complex health, emotional and behavioural needs and an understanding of these areas and the challenges carers may encounter will be important to the role.

If you have any queries about this role please contact the Registered Manager for Fostering and Adoption by email to deborah.anderson@newcatle.gov.uk
