Prosper Learning Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust, seeks to appoint a highly motivated Finance Officer to join the Trust’s Central Finance Team. The successful candidate must be passionate about their role with a high level of attention to detail. Experience of school/academy finance operations would be desirable, but not essential.

Required from October/November 2021, the focus of this role is: to undertake day-to-day financial transactional processing under the direction of the Finance Manager; to undertake all tasks associated with the purchase ledger processing of the Trust, including processing orders for classroom resources, matching delivery notes and paying invoices; to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders regarding purchase orders and invoices; to comply with the Trust’s Financial Management Policy and the Academies Financial Handbook.

Prosper Learning Trust is currently comprised of two Alternative Provision Academies, Newcastle Bridges School, and Mary Astell Academy, offering education to children and young people who are unable to attend mainstream schools, and two Special Academies, Thomas Bewick School and Harry Watts Academy, offering education to children and young people with autism. A third special academy will be forming part of our Trust from January 2023.

Our alternative provisions endeavour to provide our pupils with the chance to return to mainstream schools. Where this is not possible we provide a pupil centred approach in a range of environments. Our special academies provide specialist expertise for SEND pupils with EHCP plans. Our academies provide education from 3 to 19 years old, in school buildings, hospitals, and outreach, ensuring appropriate transition at each stage.

We can offer:

• A friendly, caring and supportive ethos

• A dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and trustees

• Well-resourced quality learning environments

• Support from colleagues within all our schools

• Opportunities to continue your own professional development

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils. Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks. Please note that in all cases written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
