Thomas Bewick School is a large, successful specialist school for autistic children and young people aged 3 - 19 in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Required from September 2022, we are looking to appoint a Family Liaison Officer to join our fantastic team of friendly, caring and supportive staff. As a Family Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for the seamless coordination between our class teams to facilitate the partnership between home, school and our wider community. Our Family Liaison Officer will have experience of being part of a team that works with children and young people and their families, ideally children with additional needs. Office and administration experience would also be valuable, together with outstanding interpersonal skills and a positive, solution focused attitude. A genuinely empathetic approach is essential, and you must be ready to take the lead and use your initiative. As the role may require some travel across the city, a full UK driving licence will be beneficial.

Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 with Newcastle Bridges School and Mary Astell Academy. Thomas Bewick School joined in 2019 and Harry Watts Academy in September 2020. We are striving to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our pupils.

Prosper Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work within the Trust is expected to share this commitment. This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received. Please note that in all cases written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.

The successful candidate will be based at Thomas Bewick School but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise.

Closing date: Monday 13th June 2022

Interviews: Week commencing Monday 20th June 2022
