The Governors wish to appoint a Car Park Attendant. The successful applicant will supervise the school car park gate on a daily basis, allowing permitted staff, visitors and parents access and egress where required. Currently, the gate needs supervision only at the end of the school day. However, the gate may need to be closed in the morning, and this needs to be considered by any prospective candidate.
The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, be approachable and professional. It is essential that any applicant enjoys interacting with the general public, young people and staff members. They must also be prepared to actively support our Catholic/Christian ethos and deliver a service that meets the high standards and values of St Mary’s.
There are more details regarding key responsibilities in the Job Description.
The role is for a fixed period initially until Christmas 2021, but there is the possibility of this being extended and/or the role becoming a permanent position. In addition, there may be a possibility of extra hours in the school and therefore flexibility would be desirable.
St Mary’s is a very popular and happy school, rated Outstanding by the Diocese and Ofsted. We became an academy in 2013 and enjoy outstanding facilities in a new building, which opened in 2011. We joined the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust in June 2020. We are also very popular with parents and are one of the most over-subscribed schools in the North-East. We have around 1,200 students in the main school and our Sixth Form, of over 200, is expected to grow to 300 in the next three years. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a highly successful and forward thinking school.
