Newcastle City Council’s award-winning Communications and Engagement team is seeking an apprentice.

We want to ensure that our website and social media channels are engaging and allow our local residents to interact with us so digital skills are a key priority for this post.

Communicating with our staff is another key priority and you will use your communication and digital skills to support internal communication and employee engagement.

You will be enthusiastic and determined to become a communication professional able to demonstrate a broad range of communication skills, especially an understanding of what works best on social media.

You will also be able to write and present information clearly and effectively. You will also be asked to work flexibly across a busy team managing the Council’s external profile and reputation.

As part of your apprenticeship you will attend Gateshead College one day per week to gain a Level 3 qualification in content development.
