The Governors wish to appoint an Admin Assistant to support the operation of our excellent school admin/office team, to cover a Maternity Leave. The successful applicant will be hard working, flexible, and will have excellent communication skills. It is essential that any applicant enjoys working with and supporting young people, as this is a crucial part of the role. The successful candidate would also need to be prepared to support the Catholic/Christian ethos at St Mary’s in this role. The successful candidate can be assured they will receive full training and unstinting support, to allow them to flourish in this post. English to GCSE or equivalent is required and previous experience working with children or young people is desirable, as is working within admin in a school or office environment.
St Mary’s is a very popular and happy school, rated Outstanding by the Diocese and Ofsted. We became an academy in 2013 and enjoy outstanding facilities in a new building, which opened in 2011. We joined the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust in June 2020. We are also very popular with parents and are one of the most over-subscribed schools in the North-East. We have around 1,200 students in the main school and our Sixth Form, of over 200, is expected to grow to 300 in the next three years.
