£30,095 - £33,486 per annum

In order to provide maternity cover within Active Inclusion Newcastle, an Active Inclusion Officer is required to support the council’s Homes for Ukraine project. The successful candidate will be the main point of contact on Homes for Ukraine, providing a coordinating role for the team working directly with Ukrainian guests and their hosts. The successful candidate will keep up to date with government guidance relating to the Homes for Ukraine scheme and will ensure that recording systems and procedures are developed accordingly.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the updating and monitoring of related systems and spreadsheets that are integral to the Homes for Ukraine project. They will have excellent IT and data management skills and will be expected to provide relevant data on the scheme to stakeholders and partners. This role will also be responsible for developing and monitoring current processes and procedures as well as proposing improvements and implementing developments.

The successful candidate will be experienced and confident in making decisions and recommendations around areas such as safeguarding and risk assessment in relation to individual applications and will have experience of working with a range of professionals forming a multi-disciplinary response.

This role will be part of a small but impactful team supporting refugees and asylum seekers as part of the council’s City of Sanctuary vision to be a safe and welcoming city, where people new to the city are provided with the support and advice that they need and where links between new arrivals and existing communities are fostered.
