There has been talk and discussion amongst partners within the Children’s Trust Board whether this is a ‘plan’ in what we have come to commonly understand or an approach to working.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter what it’s called but what it achieves and therefore sets out a call to action for an agreed way of working with children, young people and their family; with the explicit aim of continuing to improve outcomes through the impact of evidence based practice.
It provides a clear outline of needs of children and young people recognising that services and individual staff across agencies agree to work together to support improvement.
What we want for all children and young people in Newcastle is to be safe and well; have equality of opportunity; achieve their potential and have aspirations for themselves and the place they live. Children and young people have a right to a childhood and should be supported to develop the skills, knowledge, self-esteem and positive outlook which provide them with the ability to make positive choices in their life today and in the future.
