Newcastle City Council's Public Access site provided by IDOX is designed to give members of the public, councillors and consultees the ability to search and track applications made to our Building Control Section. Work is currently in progress to enable Consultees to comment on applications.

Our Public Access website includes the following functionality:

  • Simple search (by reference number, street name, post code or a keyword)
  • Advanced search (by appliaction type, between dates, by ward)
  • The ability to save searches

*Please note you must register as a consultee to make a comment or a representation against a building control application. (Consultees are: Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue and Northumbrian Water)**

Prior to accessing the Public Access site for Building Control please read our general usage and department guidance notes below:

Building Control Guidance/User Guide

Prior to using the site for other departments (Licensing and Planning) please refer to their terms of usage and guidance notes below:

*Please note that on 31 March 2014 we upgraded the IDOX Public Access system to a new version. If you experience problems with the system, in particular the improved mapping function, it is recommended that you can resolve this by upgrading your internet browser to the latest version, or trying a different browser software. The new Public Access application is recommended to be used with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 9 and above, Google Chrome or Apple Safari.*
