Grainger Market will play centre stage in the city’s festivities this year, with a festive overhaul, Santa’s grotto and a programme of special events.
Head down for locally inspired beautiful fresh produce that will make this Christmas truly special.
In the run up to Christmas the market will welcome festive shoppers on Sunday:
In the run up to Christmas Grainger Market will be open:
- Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5:30pm
- Sunday, 11am to 4pm

Newcastle Christmas Market
You know Yuletide is just around the corner when the smell of sizzling bratwurst and mulled wine fills the city centre streets.
Our popular Christmas Market will return to the city centre from:
- Saturday November 18 until Saturday December 23
Traders have been hand-picked mainly from the local area.
And the area that you will find stalls has been extended, including:
- Grainger Street - with an avenue of stalls leading up to the Grainger Market
- the top of Grey Street
- Old Eldon Square
- Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm
- Sunday, 10am to 5pm
Newcastle's much loved Quayside Market will be open on Sundays in the run up to Christmas.
From 9am to 4pm, immerse yourself in the vibrant street market that stretches from the Swing Bridge to the Millennium Bridge, with independent traders selling handcrafted goods, local products and street food.
