Nominate your local high street heroes!

This is the fourth Small Business Saturday to be held in the UK and we’re fully backing the initiative again this year in Newcastle upon Tyne.

We are very proud to announce our support for the campaign, not only on a national scale, but at a local level to champion our own small business retailers.

Cabinet Member for Investment and Development, Councillor Ged Bell, said:

“Small businesses are at the heart of our communities, and independent traders often strive to go above and beyond to meet their customer’s needs.

“It is vital that we all continue to champion local businesses in our city neighbourhoods and encourage others to see the benefits of shopping locally.”

Ahead of Small Business Saturday on 3 December 2016, we want city shoppers to nominate their favourite local high street heroes.

FSB Newcastle Branch Chairman Allen Creedy, said: “Small businesses are crucial to the continued growth of Newcastle’s economy. We’re delighted to be working with Newcastle Council to find and celebrate our fantastic small heroes from across the city.

“We’re encouraging everyone to nominate their favourite small business to get the recognition they deserve.”

Send your favourite small retailer nominations to sbs@newcastle.gov.uk before Tuesday 8 November 2016 and feel free to tell us why you think they deserve the title.

You can also send us nominations via our Newcastle City Council Facebook page, by commenting on related posts or via direct message.
