We are proposing to undertake a procurement to award a concession contract to a charitable trust for the purpose of delivering sport and leisure activities to the residents of the city.
This will secure the future of other sports and leisure activities in Newcastle and support the council's commitment to improve quality of life and tackle health inequalities for all residents.
This follows the successful transfer of Eldon Leisure, Gosforth Pool, Outer West Pool to new owners, resulting in the centres remaining open.
To help us with this proposal we are currently running a soft market testing exercise to seek input from the market to establish the most attractive way forward for a future procurement opportunity for five sport and leisure facilities in Newcastle:
- East End Pool, Byker
- All Saints Sports Centre, Denton
- Elswick Pool,
- Walker Activity Dome
- Centre for Sport, West Road
We are inviting suppliers to respond to a questionnaire to test the feasibility of the procurement options, the markets capacity and ability to deliver, and the maturity of the market to compete for these options.
If you or your organisation would like to participate in this market analysis exercise:
- View more information (pdf, 256Kb)
- Download the questionnaire (word doc, 44Kb). You can return your completed questionnaire via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please return your completed form by 2pm on 12 December 2014.
