Your online library account

Access your library account online to renew or reserve items. You will need your library card and your PIN. If you do not know your PIN please ask a member of staff at your local library or phone 0191 2774100. Access your library account.

eBooks, eAudiobooks and digital magazines

Download free eBooks and eAudiobooks from the Newcastle Libraries Digital Collection. There are hundreds of fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from. You can also view the latest and previous editions of popular magazines through Zinio. Find out more about ebooks.

Access Newcastle Libraries at a time and place convenient for you with the free Newcastle Libraries mobile app. Download our free library app and you will be able to find or reserve a title, access ebooks or renew your loans straight from your mobile. You can even scan the barcode of any book when out shopping to see if we have a copy - a great way to save money! The app also gives you library information including opening hours, maps and directions.

The Newcastle Libraries app is available for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry devices.

We subscribe to the reference websites below which can be accessed by logging in with your library card number and PIN. Search across hundreds of historic newspapers, practice for the driving theory test, find legal advice or help with your homework. Access the online resources.

Delicious: social bookmarking

Delicious is a social bookmarking site which organises and shares favourite websites. Newcastle Libraries use Delicious to save websites which we find helpful to answer customer enquiries. We have shared a selection of quality links covering a wide range of subjects such as health information, government publications, information for carers, local services & much more.

Free to view journals at your local library

Newcastle Libraries are delighted to be part of a pioneering project offering free to access academic journals and conference proceedings accessible online in libraries across the city. Access to journals is facilitated by the Publishers Licensing Society and ProQuest and supported by participating publishers.
