Cultural and creative opportunities for Newcastle, Gateshead & Northumberland

Northern Cultural Ambassadors NetworkNorthern Cultural Ambassadors is the network for artists, teachers and youth leaders enabling cultural learning across Newcastle, Gateshead and Northumberland.

Who are the Ambassadors? The majority are in schools, but Ambassadors also exist in Early Years settings, charities, community and youth groups and Local Authorities. Ambassadors volunteer to receive news of creative opportunities for their colleagues and the young people they work with, and to disseminate these accordingly.

Who are the Partners? Cultural Partners are artists, cultural venues and arts organisations. They work in a diversity of art forms, including but not limited to dance, drama, visual arts, music technology and digital media. They can come to Ambassadors' learning setting to deliver a workshop, or groups can visit their cultural venue, such as a gallery, museum or theatre.

How does the Network work? Ambassadors receive fortnightly e-bulletins and termly mail outs listing opportunities. These can include creative events for young people, CPD opportunities for staff, creative resources, and special offers and freebies for Ambassadors. The Directory of Cultural Partners lists all Partners, detailing what they do, which age groups they work with, and how you can contact them.

The brand new website Northern Cultural Ambassador's Network lists opportunities and online resources, as well as showcasing Ambassadors and Partners' projects.
