Nursery pupilNewcastle Admissions and Information Service offers an impartial service on a range of family support services and activities.   

The service is directly responsible for administering applications for school places, free school meals and free school travel permits. In addition, we provide information and advice on a wide range of services, including:

  • Childcare (childminders, nurseries, playgroups, creches, out of school and holiday clubs)
  • The Local Offer - Support and activities for children with disabilities and their families
  • Sure Start Children's Centres
  • Parent and toddler groups
  • Toy libraries
  • Parenting support
  • Things to do and places to go, including sports, holiday activities, play and leisure
  • Extended services through schools services
  • Advice and counselling services clubs and organisations - for parents, carers and young people
  • Volunteering and community organisations
  • Health services
