Be a greener gardener and recycle your waste using our garden waste collection service. For just £40 per year, we can collect your garden waste for you.
Due to the recent extreme weather conditions, a number of households missed one or two of their planned garden waste collections. To address this, we are extending the 2017/18 garden waste service year by three weeks, from 22nd May to 8th June so that valued customers can benefit from all 20 collections. This means that the new 2018/19 garden waste service year will commence on 12th June 2018. As a result, there are changes to the usual payment dates and renewal deadlines which are explained below. Thank you for your support.
The renewal deadline is now 1st June 2018. Renewals made after this date may lead to a break in the service by up to four weeks and a reduced number of collections received. Collections will stop on for those customers who have not renewed.
Customers not paying by Direct Debit.
Your renewal letter will be sent out early May 2018. You will need your eight-digit reference number (case sensitive) to use the payment links below. If you do not have this please ring Envirocall on 0191 2787878 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full address. Please ensure that you sign up by the renewal deadline of 1st June 2018.
Annual Direct Debit paying customers.
You do not need to take any further action if you wish to continue with the service. You will automatically be sent a new sticker, calendar and letter which informs you of the change in price for next year and the change of date that the payment will now be taken, 1st June 2018. Please ensure that you sign up by the renewal deadline of 1st June 2018.
If you have not received your renewal letter by 4th May 2018, please contact us at email@example.com to arrange for a duplicate letter to be sent.
The 2018/19 garden waste year begins on 12th June 2018 and you will be able to sign up and pay from 11th April 2018. To do this you will need an eight-digit reference number, which will be available to new customers from 11th April 2018. To obtain your eight-digit reference number please ring Envirocall on 0191 2787878 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full address.
If you live in a new build property you might need to have an eight-digit reference number created for you. This can take up to week, or sometimes longer during busy periods.

The deadline for new customers joining the scheme is 31st August 2018 but customers should sign up as early as possible to ensure they get the maximum 20 collections.
The ways to pay are listed below though we recommend paying through our website if you have your reference number. Due to high call volumes there may be delays when paying by phone.
Ways to pay from April 2018
1. Internet: Pay online
2. Pay by phone: To pay by debit or credit card phone 0191 278 7878 and ask for Payments. The automated payment line is now available 24 hours, 7 days a week. You will need your eight-digit reference number.
3. Direct Debit: To set this up, phone 0191 278 7878 and ask for Garden Waste. Our Direct Debit option is a one off annual payment of £40 taken from your bank account on the first day of the month of the due date.
Report a Missed Garden Waste Collection
Before contacting us to report a missed collection, please ensure:
The correct bin was put out for collection.
The bin was at the kerbside or the designated collection point by 6.30am.
The bin was not too heavy to be lifted by the collection crew.
The correct items were in the bin.
Please note, we use an automated system which records when streets are serviced by our collection vehicles. If the system shows your street was serviced on the correct day, bins will be deemed to have been not presented and collected on the next planned collection day.
If you did put the correct bin out, it wasn't overloaded and was on the kerbside by 6.30am, please contact us after 4.30pm on your collection day and we will arrange for your bin to be collected within 3 working days.

Check your bin day online. If you have recently joined the scheme we will write to you to confirm your new bin collection dates prior to them starting.
What if I move house within Newcastle - will I have to pay again?
Yes, the scheme now relates to a collection service from a particular property or household. The service is not transferable either within or outside of Newcastle. The payment is for the collection service at the property.
What if I move out of the area?
If you move house, please leave the garden waste bin at the property.
How do you know who has paid for the service?
You will be sent a sticker which you will need to stick to the lid of your bin. Our collection crews will have details of all residents who have paid for the service and will only empty bins with stickers on them.
How do I return an unwanted brown bin?
Arrange online for your brown bin to be removed or phone 0191 278 7878 (ask for 'garden waste').
Can I get assistance moving my bin?
If you already receive assistance to put out your green waste bin, you will automatically receive a assistance with your garden waste bin. If not, find out about the assisted lift service.
