Domestic Abuse Strategy 2021 to 2023

Domestic Abuse Strategy 2021 to 2023

Our Domestic Abuse Strategy is produced by the Newcastle Domestic Abuse Local Partnership Board.  The Strategy is based on a shared vision that domestic abuse, in all it's forms, is unacceptable in our city and that everyone has a role to play in preventing people from becoming victims or perpetrators.

The Strategy sets our our shared commitments, our ambitions and how we make sure that appropriate good quality support and protection is available when people need it.  We want to encourage.  It is part of our long-established multi-agency approach to tackling domestic abuse and goes beyond our legal requirements to provide a holistic response for our city.

Our vision

Everyone deserves to live in safety and without fear.  There is no excuse for domestic abuse, and it is unacceptable in our city.

Our approach

We recognise that victims and survivors don't live single issue lives and may experience multiple forms of violence, abuse and other forms of oppression.

Our Domestic Abuse Strategy is part of our aim to tackle violence against women and girls and will contribute to that wider work.

We aim to make Newcastle a place where people feel Safe in the City and our domestic abuse strategy will contribute to this.
