Our newly-refurbished Leazes Room is the ideal location for your ceremony. This room can accommodate up to 70 people, including the couple.

Find us on the 2nd Floor of the Civic Centre, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 8QH.

As an alternative to the Leazes Room, you may wish to hold your ceremony in the Register Office (The Heber Room). This room is available from Monday to Saturday and holds a maximum of 6 people including the couple.

The Collingwood Suite is situated on the first floor above the Registrars entrance and is elegantly decorated with rich coloured silk wall coverings and hand carved walnut. This room can accommodate up to 80 guests theatre style or 90 cabaret style and is ideal for ceremonies or wedding receptions.

The Grand Entrance red carpet area with its back drop of the Bavarian crystal chandelier and the grandeur of the marble staircase - what better location for your wedding ceremony to take place. A truly magnificent place for your wedding photographs. This area can accommodate up to 80 guests comfortably theatre style. 

Times of Ceremonies

Fridays and Saturdays are the most popular days for our larger ceremony rooms, and you are advised to book well in advance to secure your preferred date and time.  Ceremonies can take place in the Register Office every day excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Finding us

All of these ceremony rooms are at the Civic Centre, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8QH.  There is no parking provision for guests so we advise that you look at our web pages to find the nearest local car parks, which include Sandyford Square, Sandyford Road and College Street (plus the Civic Centre car park at weekends).  The nearest Metro station is Haymarket Metro and the nearest bus station is Haymarket Bus Station, both less than 5 minutes walk away.  Newcastle Central station is approximately a 20 minute walk, mostly uphill, or you can take the Metro from Central Station to Haymarket.
