The Explosives Regulations 2014

It is a requirement that anyone wishing to keep explosives shall register their name, trade and premises with the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.

The service will now only issue a registration/licence for new applications or renewals once the premises designated for explosive storage has been subject to a satisfactory inspection from their fire safety department.

The Explosives Regulations 2014

New legislation relating to the storage of fireworks came into force on the 1 October 2014.

From this date all applications must be processed under the new regulations.

The Explosives Regulations 2014 have been produced to consolidate specific areas relating to the manufacture and storage for explosives and fireworks.

With respect to the licensing and storage of explosives within Newcastle upon Tyne, these are functions performed by the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service.
