Property and Asset Management can help you source suitable premises for your business, whether you are already trading or considering Newcastle upon Tyne as a business location.

Types of property or land include:

Retail

All the city council's community shopping centres and individual shop units located throughout the city are managed by the retail section. The works include a comprehensive estate management service for over 200 properties in the retail property portfolio.

For further information on all shop premises please phone Denise Tymon on 0191 211 5542 (for properties west of the city) or Penny Hunter on 0191 211 5529 (for properties east of the city) or email property@newcastle.gov.uk for further information.

Industrial units

We have a team of surveyors, technical and administrative staff who are responsible for the management of a large part of the Commercial Property Portfolio including factories, industrial and commercial sites, non-housing shops (excluding Eldon Square and the markets).

The management duties of the team include negotiating lettings, lease renewals and rent reviews, the upkeep of all records as well as the day to day management of the property.

In addition, the team is responsible for dealing with any acquisitions and disposals of property so far as they relate to the upkeep of the Property Portfolio and the requirements of the Chief Executive Directorate.

For further information on all industrial premises please contact Deborah Connor 0191 211 5536 or email property@newcastle.gov.uk.

Offices

The City Council owns numbers 1 and 5 Charlotte Square which are Grade II listed multi-occupied buildings with individual units ranging from 170 to 1900 sq ft. These form part of an attractive Georgian Square which has been recently restored. It provides affordable office/studio accommodation on flexible terms for a variety of uses.

The Council also owns 4 Old Eldon Square, a smaller Grade II listed multi-occupied building fronting the square itself. It provides basic office/retail accommodation in a City Centre location.

For further information on all office premises please contact Hazel Fimister on 0191 211 5549 or E-mail property@newcastle.gov.uk.
