We are currently consulting on our Council Tax Reduction scheme for 2018/19. For more information, go to: www.newcastle.gov.uk/CouncilTaxReductionScheme2018/19

Direct Debit is the easiest and most convenient way to pay and you have all the control. It is also very cost effective for the council which in turn helps us keep council tax low. You need a bank or building society account and all you have to do is fill in a Direct Debit application form or phone us on 0191 278 7878 and set up your instruction over the phone.

Direct Debit Application

In order to set up your Direct Debit instruction online you will need to provide details of your bank or building society name and account number, sort code and branch address. If you have recently received a Final Notice or Summons, please contact 0191 278 7878 and ask for "Council Tax" to speak to an officer as you may have lost your right to pay by installments.

You must be the bank account holder and council tax payer to continue with an online set up. If you are not the account holder or are setting up a Direct Debit for a company you can download a paper Direct Debit form.

All Direct Debits are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.
