The web-pages have been updated to include the latest Vitality Index Annual Snapshot (2008).
August 2008
We have added a new neighbourhood (GN21), which is located in the North of the City as a second phase of the Great North Park development. This will be used for the 2008 Vitality Index. This neighbourhood has been named Greenside.
September 2007
We have started to collect data for 145 neighbourhoods (previously 142). The three additional neighbourhoods have been created in areas where we expect to see sizeable housing developments over the next five years. These include:
IE27 - 'Manors' in Ouseburn ward
OE18 - 'Ouseburn Valley' in Byker ward and bordering Ouseburn ward
RW18 - 'Central Station / Centre for Life and Arena' in Westgate and Elswick wards
The 2006 Vitality Index includes IE27, but OE18 and RW18 are not yet included because there is currently insufficient data to develop meaningful vitality scores for these neighbourhoods.
April 2007
Some of the neighbourhoods have been renamed as follows:
SC07 - from Fenham Estate to Fenham Estate North
SC09 - from Wingrove to Moorside North and South
SC10 - from Fenham Estate to Fenham Estate South
NC10 - from Coxlodge/Regent Farm East to Blakelaw/North Fenham
