Members of the European Parliament
For the purposes of European elections, Newcastle upon Tyne comes within the North East region. Three Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) represent the North East and are elected for up to five years. They are:

Changes to Parliamentary Constituency Boundaries
The Boundary Commission for England have published provisional recommendations for changes to parliamentary constituency boundaries in Tyne and Wear. The number of constituencies will be reduced from thirteen to twelve, which will result in major changes to some of the existing constituencies.
