What activities do we support?
Newcastle Neighbours is a small grants programme helping community and voluntary groups in our city to celebrate good neighbours in our communities.
You can apply for up to £300, for activities between May and August 2012 that:
• Promote good relations between different groups
• Involve all the diverse groups that make up our communities, but with a focus on what we all have in common
• Help people come together and create a sense of belonging in their neighbourhood
Not-for-profit, voluntary or community groups which:
• Have been going for one year or more
• Work for the benefit of their community
• Are led by volunteers
• Have a bank account in their own name
If you have an idea for a project but aren't sure if you can meet all these conditions, please get in touch to discuss it.
We have two themes which link to national events:
1. Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee
2. Celebrating the London 2012 Olympics
But we also have a general un-themed fund, so your event doesn’t have to be about one of these themes as long as it meets our overall aim of promoting good neighbourliness.
Activities we might support include:
But if you have a good idea we haven't thought of, we'd love to hear it!
Newcastle Neighbours Fund 2012 has now closed. Please come back next year!
