The budget is usually agreed in early March in time for Council Tax notices to be sent out. Before it is agreed the Council consults with the public and other stakeholders. The accounts are produced after the end of the financial year. They are prepared in accordance with the CIPFA Code of Practice on Local Authority Accounting and audited by external auditors.
