The Newcastle Warm Zone (NWZ), is a dynamic public-private
partnership set up to tackle fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency across the City. Since it began work in April 2004, this exciting multi-million pound project has already benefited tens of thousands of households in Newcastle.
Information about the Newcastle Warm Zone
The Newcastle Warm Zone partnership includes Warm Zones Ltd, Newcastle City Council, Your Homes Newcastle, Scottish Power, Newcastle Primary Care Trust, insulation contractors and voluntary groups. NWZ will run for seven years to March 2011.
The project is designed to benefit all households in the city of Newcastle. The main aims of NWZ are to:
- Eradicate fuel poverty in Newcastle as far as is practicable
- Improve energy efficiency across all the city's households
