The Photograph Collection

The Local Studies photograph collection consists of 80,000 photographs, prints and postcards representing the social, recreational and working lives of the region from the birth of photography in the 1850’s, to the present day.

You can request a photographic copy of an Illustration(s) from the collection, this is for personal use only, they can be provided in either digital or hardcopy formats.  Copies can be made providing that the copyright of the illustration lies with the Library, for further details please contact the City Library.

Requests to use photographs for publication and ordering:
