You only have to walk through the toon on a Saturday afternoon to see the demand.

The City Council held a series of meetings with skaters and bikers, which led to the event in Exhibition Park in August 2002, where a temporary park was set up. During that weekend, some 250 questionnaires were filled in.

The event also confirmed Exhibition Park as the likely venue. It is close to the City Centre and its transport routes and has no housing near it.

Early in 2003 an open meeting was held and a group of people representing boarders and bikers volunteered to advise on the design. They have met regularly with the designer to produce the layout.

Clive Bowman, the designer has already built a few parks in Scotland.

The City Council has agreed to put £200,000 into the project. We have got planning permission and should start construction in early September. It will take about three months to construct.
