How would you improve Shieldfield Green?

Ouseburn Ward Committee has invited Udecide to work with people that live in Shieldfield to help them decide how £100,000 is spent on improving the local green.

The funding has come from some of the recent developments in Shieldfield, and the Ward Committee has agreed it should be spent on the green with strong involvement from local people. Udecide will be working with the Ward Committee to make sure this happens.

A group of local residents and others working in the area has been established to oversee the Udecide project and make sure that everyone has the opportunity to have their say. The project is now well underway and the working group has been out and about at various events in 2011. Udecide BBQ with circus workshop

The residents of Shieldfield have now voted on a style for the park and on the physical improvements they would like to see implemented. That leaves around £20,000 for projects and activities that will bring the Green to life. In the summer, once the physical improvements are underway, residents will again have the chance to vote on their favourite projects for spending the remaining £20,000. We'll post dates and information on the website over the next few months.

Please contact Ali Lamb on alison.lamb@newcastle.gov.uk or 0191 277 7681 for more information. Otherwise, look out for the Udecide Team in your area over the next few months and tell us how you would improve the Green in Shieldfield!
