This page provides updates on our progress on the proposals for St. Peter’s Link, a road designed for pedestrian, cycle and bus use between St. Lawrence Road and Walker Road.

Consultation on this proposal was carried out in late 2009 and amendments to the scheme were made based on the comments received. A planning application to approve the scheme was submitted in September 2010. Unfortunately, in October 2010, funding was withdrawn from the scheme by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

Since then, we have been exploring alternative funding sources. Sadly, funding for such schemes from central government is constrained and there does not appear to be any suitable funding opportunities for some time. In light of this, we consider it appropriate that the planning application is withdrawn, with no further work being undertaken on this project until a funding source is secured

This page will be updated should any funding become available for this scheme in the future.
