You can request that a bay or a number of bays are reserved for your use or suspended. This stops people from parking in those bays leaving them free for you to use, or to keep them empty.
Please note that we cannot grant every request to reserve or suspend bays - we take into account the reason you want to take bays out of public use, the impact it will have on other people and the availability of other options.
Depending on the circumstances we may hood the relevant meters or ticket machines off and cone and tape the appropriate area to stop other vehicles using the bays you have requested. If you wish to park vehicles in the bays we may also issue you with permits to display to prove that the correct vehicle is parked within the bay(s).

To suspend or reserve parking places you need to complete an application form which you can either download, pick up from a Customer Service Centre or have it faxed to you. If you would like a form to be faxed to you, please contact us on (0191) 277 2737 between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Once you have completed the form you need to return it to us. The quickest way is to fax it to us on (0191) 261 8580.
Alternatively you can bring it into a Customer Service Centre or post it to:
Newcastle Parking Services, 102 Percy Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 7RZ.
We need to receive the completed form back at least 3 working days before you want the bays reserving or suspending otherwise it is unlikely we can guarantee you can use them.
There is an administration charge of £25 to set up one continuous reservation or suspension. If there are any breaks or gaps we will treat it as 2 or more separate applications and you must pay the administration charge for each application.
Then you must pay for the bays you use as follows in advance of the reservation:

Payment should be made in advance and can be made by cheque made payable to "Newcastle City Council - Parking A/C" or by telephone to 0191 277 2737 for payment by credit or debit card. Please note that a 2% surcharge applies where payment is made by credit card.
If your circumstances change and you no longer require the bay(s) to be reserved you must notify us in advance by ringing 0191 277 2737 so we can cancel your reservation. If you fail to notify us and the work involved in removing the bay(s) from general use and associated administration is carried out, the charges will apply and you will be invoiced for this work.
