Metro Park & Ride

Park and Ride facilities within Newcastle City Council boundaries are available at the Metro stations at Callerton Parkway (NE13 8DF) and Kingston Park (NE3 2SW) to the north-west of the city centre, Walkergate (NE6 4NT) to the east of the city centre and Regent Centre (NE3 3PF) to the north of the city centre.  If you are travelling to Newcastle from the south the easiest Park and Ride access is via Heworth Metro Station, which is east of Gateshead and accessible from the A194(M).  There is also a bus-based Park and Ride facility at Newcastle Great Park, which is north of the city centre.

The facilities at Kingston Park (with the exception of the ticket machines that are maintained by Nexus) and Walkergate are operated by Newcastle City Council, while the other car parks are operated by Nexus - who are contactable via telephone number 0191 2020 747 between 7:00am and 9:00pm, 7 days a week (or 0191 203 3199, 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday - Friday for calls about Metro).

For detailed information on planning your journey including a map showing the location of the Metro station, the number of spaces, the car park opening times and days, the applicable charges, transport provision and timetable/frequency information, please visit the Nexus website at www.nexus.org.uk/metro/stations.

Motorists requiring information about whether they can park larger vehicles at Kingston Park and Walkergate stations should check the vehicle size restriction information for Newcastle City Council operated car parks.
