Voting is now underway to choose the latest line-up of the Newcastle Youth Council.
The election to choose the next 30 members of the council takes place from October 15 to 18, with votes being cast at ballot boxes at schools and an online voting system.
Results will be announced on the evening of Friday 19 October at the Civic Centre and those standing as candidates should try and be available that evening.
Those elected to the Youth Council will be expected to attend a residential in October half-term from October 29 and 31. The first full meeting of the new Youth Council will take place at Newcastle City Library on Sunday 4 November, at 2pm.
Those who succeed in taking office will be expected to show commitment to the role for a term of two years. Many members take on special roles in the Youth Council and four members will be chosen in February to represent Newcastle’s young people at a national level through the UK Youth Parliament.
