Members of the public took the opportunity to try out a host of weird and wonderful bicycles during a cycling event with a difference at Newcastle Civic Centre.
The Great Newcastle Have-a-Go event offered people the opportunity to test-ride a bizarre range of bikes, including ones with three wheels, two saddles, a pedal-powered smoothie maker and a modern version of the Victorian penny farthing.
Members of the public also defied the miserable weather to come along and take advantage of free cycle safety checks, anti-theft registrations, and route maps for the city.
