Newcastle Plan explained

The Newcastle Plan is in two parts: The government wants everywhere to have a Community Strategy. It also says there are places in the UK where people are missing out. Some of those areas are in Newcastle. The government wants people in deprived areas to have the same chances as everyone else. The Newcastle Plan Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy shows what will be done to improve the East End, the West End and the North and Outer West of Newcastle.

"My name is Fenwick and I live in the East End. Involving local people in the Newcastle Plan is good, but you have to keep it real. Things should be broken down into stages so people can make their own judgements when each step is reached. If the Newcastle Partnership is honest about what can really be achieved, it will get people’s support."
