Revised Opening Hours

Following the opening of the new City Library on 7 June, opening hours will be reduced at East End, Fenham, Gosforth and Jesmond libraries.
After public consultation in 2006 it was agreed that these libraries would have extra opening hours to compensate for the temporary closure of the City Library. With the opening of the new City Library it will be necessary for these libraries to revert to their original number of opening hours.
Throughout March customers at each library have been asked about their preferences for opening hour changes. 1,831 replies were received and the majority view for each library has been chosen. The revised hours, which will come into effect from the week beginning 1 June, will be:

East End
Monday 9am – 8pm
Tuesday and Wednesday 9am – 5pm
Thursday 9am – 8pm
Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm
Sunday 10am – 2pm

Fenham
Monday 9am – 8pm
Tuesday 9am – 5pm
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 9am – 8pm
Friday and Saturday 9am – 5pm
Sunday Closed

Gosforth
Monday 8.30am – 8pm
Tuesday and Wednesday 8.30am – 5pm
Thursday 8.30am – 8pm
Friday 8.30am – 5pm
Saturday 9am – 5pm
Sunday 10am – 2pm

Jesmond
Monday 9am – 8pm
