This site, behind Whitefield Terrace in Heaton, has a history of changing land use from farm land to a brick works, to landfill and to its present use as a neighbourhood green space.

The area is popular with local people and includes play areas, wetland and increasing areas of trees and shrubs. There is an active Friends of Iris Brickfield Group who meet on a monthly basis to discuss the development of the site for wildlife and the community.  The group are also involved in organising community events throughout the year.
