Notice of library closures
On Saturday 29 June we will be closing the following libraries as part of the £100 million we have been forced to save by 2016:
We remain committed to providing a core quality of quality libraries across the city where everyone has a library within 1.5 miles of their home.
Discussions are taking place with various community groups who may be interested in running these libraries. We will let you know if there any developments.
Relocation of Walker Library
Walker Library will relocate into a purpose built area within Walker Activity Dome, Wharrier Street, in July 2013 as part of Newcastle City Council’s three year budget strategy. We will be offering a full range of library facilities and a café facility. The current building will close on Saturday 29th June 2013.
