Come in to see the Byker Banner - a stunning piece of artwork by artist Denise Johnson. It’s a painted collage digitally printed on canvas and was inspired by Newcastle Climbing Centre, Byker, which is inside St Mark’s Church. The banner’s three panels each reflect aspects of Byker and northern life since 1906 when the church was founded.
