The Council is in the process of implementing a new pay and grading structure under the national Single Status agreement. The salary for jobs earning a basic between Ł15,470 and Ł46,479 is subject to that review and may therefore change in the next 12 to 18 months.

Newcastle has been successful in a bid to become a Targeted Mental Health in Schools (TAMHS) phase 2 project. The aim of the project is to enable the family, school and significant others in the child’s life to support and promote their emotional well-being to improve the outcomes for the child. The approach is based on the principle that the family can provide their own solution with the support of the school and professionals involved, and that this solution will be more sustainable than merely providing a service. The project team is seeking to appoint a Project Manager who is committed to improving the mental health of children and young people on a secondment up to 31 March 2011.
