Newcastle’s biggest ever housing improvement programme is going ahead after we secured a 2 star rating from government inspectors. The achievement has unlocked £348m of extra government funding that we will use to ensure that all 32,000 homes will meet the Decent Homes Standard by 2010. We have worked with tenants to decide how best to organise the improvement work. The work is split into two separate packages - internal and external work.
