We are pleased to introduce Newcastle's Housing Delivery Plan which covers the City's housing priorities and plans for next year and the objectives over the current spending round up to 2015. This delivery plan makes up the work programme for our new Fairer Housing Unit which brings together accountability for housing issues into one place, with a sharper focus on priorities. This delivery plan seeks to articulate what further must be done for Newcastle's housing supply to meet the City's aspiration for a strong and prosperous future. It sits within the context of the Local Development Framework Core Strategy and its wider regeneration and growth priorities.
Actions on how we will respond to delivering on these key priorities are set out later within the Housing Delivery plan. The 'Key Actions List' details the activity to be undertaken over the coming year, and will be reviewed and updated annually.
The delivery plan is accompanied by a 'Background Evidence Paper' which helps support the priorities and programmes in the key actions list. The background evidence is presented in a single document and this too will be reviewed annually.

Allocations and Lettings Policy
The Council’s Allocations and Lettings policy sets out how to apply for social housing (including council housing) in Newcastle. It also sets out how we decide who is selected for social housing. The policy will be implemented after 1 April 2012.
