Newcastle Accreditation LogoNewcastle City Council is committed to raising and maintaining good standards in private rented properties in the city and seeks to recognise those landlords and agents who are willing to work in partnership to maintain good standards.

The Scheme is voluntary and applications are welcomed from owners or managing agents of rented properties throughout the city who are willing to maintain their property at the required level and who have satisfactory management procedures in place.

The standards required for accreditation have been set after taking into account the Housing Health and Safety Rating System which is used to assess risks to health and safety in houses. Further information on this is available from the Public Health and Private Sector Housing Section at the City Council.

There are two routes to accreditation depending on the type of occupation of your property.
