Home improvements - disabled facility grant for a private property

This grant is aimed at assisting people who:

  • Are registered disabled under the National Assistance Act 1984 or the Children's Act 1989
  • Have a substantial sight, hearing or speech impairment
  • Have a mental disorder or impairment of any kind or
  • Are physically substantially disabled by illness, impairment present since birth, or otherwise

Applicants must be referred by the Occupational Therapy section of Adult and Cultural Services. Please contact Adult Social Care Direct to make a referral to Occupational Therapy.

A maximum amount of grant applies for the above grant and details of this can be obtained from the Home Improvement Team.
