If they wish, Newcastle residents can take waste and recycling to either a Household Waste Recycling Centre or a Recycling Point. The differences between the two types of site are outlined below.

Household Waste Recycling Centres

The three Household Waste Recycling Centres are large household waste disposal points situated in Brunswick, Byker and Walbottle. The centres accept a large variety of waste materials for recycling and have contain waste disposal points for materials that can't be recycled. Please visit the Recycling Centres page for more information on site locations, opening times and what materials are accepted.

Recycling Points

These are small recycling points conveniently situated in locations such as large supermarket car parks; meaning you can shop and recycle at the same time. At the recycling points you will find a small number of recycling containers for the more commonly used recyclable materials such as glass and newspapers. They do not accept general wastes for disposal. Visit the Recycling Points page for more information on site locations and what materials they accept.

Finding your nearest Recycling Point or Centre

You can find your nearest recycling point or centre by simply typing your postcode into the Recycle More's recycling point finder
