Newcastle Warm Zone works in partnership with Newcastle City Council to provide free or discounted cavity wall and loft insulation to homes in Newcastle.

If you own or privately rent your home and have a health condition that is made worse by the cold or damp, you may be able to receive assistance from Health Through Warmth towards the cost of replacing your central heating.
If you own or privately rent your home you may be able to claim a grant under the Government's Warm Front scheme. You must be on certain benefits to qualify and have a property with a low energy rating (Standard Assessment Procedure 55 or under, which will be assessed at survey stage). The Warm Front grant also provides insulation and draft proofing. Warm Front re-opened to new applicants on 14 April 2011.
There are currently no householder grants available towards the cost of installing renewable energy. The Low Carbon Buildings Programme closed to new applicants on 24 May 2010.
