The City Learning Centre facilities are available to school, local businesses, community groups and learners.
What is the City Learning Centre?
The City Learning Centre combines state-of-the-art facilities and expertise to provide learning opportunities to a large city-wide collaborative of schools (Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Special), the local community, local businesses and Newcastle learners.
The aim of the City Learning Centre is to enhance the learning opportunities for children and young people by:
- improving access to, and use by pupils and adults to the latest education technology
- improving attainment levels through the use of technology
- increasing staying on rate
- reducing truancy figures
- improving employment prospects
We provide a prospectus of activities that schools can participate in every academic year. This prospectus explains which part of the curriculum the activities feed into.

Can businesses or local community groups book the facilities at the City Learning Centre?
Yes, we welcome all business users and community groups to use our facilities.

Does the City Learning Centre have an internet cafe?
No, the City Learning Centre no longer has a community internet café but members of the public are welcome to use the facilities at the old Westgate Community College site across the car park from us.
