Adoption of Area Action Plan
Newcastle City Council adopted the Walker Riverside Area Action Plan (WRAAP) on 4 April 2007 as a Development Plan Document, forming part of the Local Development Framework for Newcastle. The Plan, appendices and a copy of the adoption statement are available to download below.

Examination - public hearings 31 Jan to 1 Feb 2007
Mr Anthony Thickett of the Planning Inspectorate was appointed to carry out the examination of WRAAP. A Pre-examination Meeting was held on 22 November 2006 to discuss the agenda for the public hearings. The public hearings were held on 31 January and 1 February 2007.

Site allocation representations
Six representations on the submission draft Plan proposed changes to site allocations. A further six week consultation period was required by 'Regualtion 32' to give people and organisations the opportunity to comment. Three furhter representations were received as a result - from Northumberland County Council, English Heritage and the Places for People Group. They are available to download below.

Notification of Proposals Map Error
There was an error on the Proposals Map of the submitted Walker Riverside Draft Area Action Plan, which did not highlight the 'Lamb Street' site listed in the schedule of housing sites (policy HP1) in brown as it should have. The site did, however, have an arrow identifying it as the Lamb Street site. See the image below for details of the change that the planning authority requested the Inspector to make.

Walker Riverside Decisions - POR
Walker Riverside Decisions set out different development and regeneration options which could happen over the next fifteen years in the Walker Riverside Area. The statutory consultation period on the Preferred Options Report ran from 1 September 2005 until 12 October 2005 and is now closed.
